OUR VISION

Our focus is to plant seeds of faith for a lifelong, Christ-centered relationship with God, and to provide nourishment for that growth equipping both young children and their families to live out an active and visible commitment to Jesus Christ. We seek to serve this mission in such a way that G.R.O.W.S. children by . . . .

VASQUEZ FAMILY ASSISTANCE

The Vasquez family, who leads the Hispanic families outreach here at East Cobb, have suffered a house fire late Monday.  During this difficult time, we are attempting to meet some of their needs.  At the moment there are 2 things that you can do:

          1.  Pray
          2.  Donate

Donations can include gift cards (Wal-Mart, Target, KMart, etc.) for food and other essential items, as well as clothing in the following sizes:

          Men's               42x29 pants, XXL or XL shirts, 11 shoes
          Men's               34x30 pants, Large shirts, 10.5 shoes
          Women's         Size 16, XL shirts, 9 shoes
          Women's         Size 10/12, Medium shirts, 9 shoes

 

Our first collection goal will be through Wednesday, January 11th.  You can bring donations to the evening assembly and drop off at the new family life center welcome desk.  You can drop off goods or gift cards anytime between 9-5 (Monday thru Friday) at the office.  

Missions we support

The goal of our missions ministry is "To challenge and lead the East Cobb family in carrying “the Good News” to the lost and challenge every member to be involved."

Family Enrichment

Family EnrichmentThe purpose of the Family Enrichment Ministry is to positively impact the lives of families worshiping at East Cobb as well as families in the community.  Our programs are designed to build and strengthen today’s Christian family.  We strive to develop activities that deepen the spiritual development of our families and help them grow in their faith journeys, wherever they are on that path. 

A Marriage Retreat is held off-campus every other year and provides couples with a getaway time of specific focus and reconnection to God and to each other.  Our Marriage Seminar is held on site on opposite years, giving couples encouragement and edification.

Marriage Mentoring involves three couples – young, middle age, and mature – forming a time-limited fellowship. These couples meet for dinner at one another’s home once a month for three months to gain continued insight into their own marriage, as they share with others life’s experiences and love's responses.

Update on Tsunami Relief Efforts

It is hard to believe that it is over a year since the tsunami that devastated India and other countries. Some of you felt moved and voluntarily gave money to help with this disaster. The Missions
Ministry worked through Scott and Cynthia Stavran to place the funds with a missionary family (Rama and Udaya Krishna) in India that they have
known for years. Rama's brother-in-law, Kalyan Chintapalli is a student attending a college in Indiana.

Ministries at the East Cobb Church of Christ

Children’s Ministry (Birth - Grade 5) - Serve the needs of this community and this church family by providing educational programs and selected activities which will build a solid foundation upon which Christian values, beliefs and knowledge will mature/progress from birth through and beyond the 5th grade.

Mother's Morning Out (ages 1-4) - Supports moms, dads, and caregivers who need to run errands or have some “me time” by providing a safe, fun, and educational environment for their children.

Youth Ministry (Grades 7 - 12) - Provide the best possible environment for Christian purpose driven growth as our teens confirm and grow their commitment to Christ and exercise the gifts and talents they have been provided by God.

Prayer Ministry - To worship God through prayer, to encourage our church family in their prayer life, to demonstrate to our attendees the power of prayer and to regularly put the needs of the congregation before the Lord in prayer.
